As we continued with the youth International seminar, there were a lot of remarks from the youths as well as from some of our Elders from the previous topics that were mentioned for instance the issue of alcohol,it came about from one of our youths that alcohol has certain percentages and that whether or not there is a percentage of alcohol in a certain drink you must not consume it as along as it has a label of alcohol, Moreover there was an interesting question which most youths seemed to have an interest on which was "What is depression" this question had a lot of answer such as it it a mental illness that negatively affects how you feel , the way you think and how you act as a human being .In realization we realized that yes, depression really affects our generation and probably affected past generations. There was an answer that seemed to answer us as a whole and in general as a religion ,One of our youth mentioned that depression, yes it is there but as we are here in Guta RaMwari where illness and troubles are cured we should pray for the depression that we are facing. Our grounding is that depression has a spiritual element which can only be solved through seeking the Holy Spirit. Any solutions or remedies that tackles the symptoms will not effectively end depression but risk elevating it. It is clear that as the youth with God we can end this depression but placing all our troubles there and using the different platforms we have talk about it. We can talk to our parents, Youth Educators, Youth Coordinators at Sub-HQs and the International Youth Coordinator.
Moving on with the afternoon lessons , questions were asked to the youths such as Black tax as it is the responsibility that is given to the child of a family who is now working and can provide for his or her family in other words it is the responsibility of taking care of your parents as well as you siblings. There was a very thoughtful answer as one gentle man said that he is happy about supporting his parents and siblings as a whole this was a very brilliant answer as children we learn from that situation ,that we must not feel as if you are being abused by helping your parents that took care of you since birth ,we should appreciate them and always know that we have responsibilities towards them as there had to us.
I praise God for being a part of the IYS 2023.
