August is a time of reflection among Guta Ra Mwari members, looking back on the year gone by from the previous August to date. It is our Harvest season where we praise God for His Love and Protection through troubles seen and unseen. We also take this time to ask God for our heart’s desires, building on a historic southern African tradition where people from the region would travel to Zimbabwe to offer their harvests to God at Njelele mountain, praising and asking Him for good rains.
God teaches us to love one another at Guta Ra Mwari, a Commandment He has given for us to abide. Like all religions, Guta Ra Mwari is made up of numerous members from across the world, all of whom make being part of the religion a pleasant experience. We are at a place of Healing and many rewards where God teaches us that love for one another is desired by the Holy Spirit which finds a place in kind hearts to heal all our ailments. While we each have unique requests and praise to give to God when the Harvest season starts, the love He enables for one another is what binds us.
Rarely does a work of art embody this truth in as strong a Spirit as in the song Mhlobo Wami by the Rosettenville Branch of Guta Ra Mwari in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The song starts with a solo intro by a voice full in its heart with emotion for a confidant, as if prostrating in yearning for the right words to free the singer to express what she is feeling. As she says her heartfelt thanks, a supporting voice brightens the song with its unique tone. Together as if holding hands and outstretching their free arms, they say to their confidant, “I thank you for being there for me in my most difficult times, comforting me and assuring me, saying this too will come to pass”.
The rest of the choir enters … and it’s a thing of beauty.
Love is the first memory that people have of their arrival at Guta Ra Mwari. Somewhere in that experience, Healing takes place and without doubt they know they have found God.
Mhlobo Wami is a Rose from Rosettenville, inviting you to this place of unbelievable Healing.
Come to Guta Ra Mwari and experience a life of true righteousnes and its blessings, wrapped in a Harvest of true Love from the warmth of its members.
Mhlobo Wami ... ngiyakuthanda
